Once the windows are created they overlap on the screen like sheets of paper. When a partially covered window is selected with the pointing device, the window is redisplayed to overlap the other windows. Images with various degrees of symbolic content can be displayed simultaneously. Such images include detailed halftone drawings, analogical images such as graphs and symbolic images such as numbers or words.
