Mac OS X Jaguar starts with an empty desktop and a set of applications in the Dock at the bottom of the screen (from left: Finder, Mail, iChat, Address Book, Internet Explorer, iTunes, iPhoto, iMovie, Sherlock, QuickTime Player, System Preferences, shortcut to Apple’s website and Trash). Note: The screenshot is taken on a machine without Quartz Extreme support.

By default, the clock is shown only in Dock – the above screenshot shows its standalone version, with opacity brought to 100% (instead of standard 40%). The digital version of the clock Switch to view 2 very much resembles NeXT- and OPENSTEP.
